Welcome to the new look of AlexIn Tech! 🎉
In February 2025, I wrote about moving this website to Hugo. That update was about simplifying the technical side and leaving Wix behind. This time, I wanted the website to better reflect who I am, what I build, and how I can help you.
Green, yellow, and a little Catppuccin
I’ve always liked green and yellow together. This redesign makes that combination the site’s visual identity, with a nod to the soft colors of Catppuccin.
Dark mode brings together charcoal backgrounds, muted green, and warm yellow accents. Light mode uses a bright background with deep green and softer yellow. The changes also cover typography, spacing, article tags, navigation, and social buttons, so the experience feels more consistent from one page to the next.
There’s a new profile picture and a matching favicon too. The aim is a design I’ll still enjoy using several years from now, with room for the articles and projects to speak for themselves.
Still a SysOps Engineer, increasingly a developer
Systems and infrastructure remain my foundation. But I’m coding more and more: automating repetitive work, connecting tools, and developing applications around specific needs. I’m also particularly interested in AI and where it can make a useful contribution.
The common thread is simple: I like solving problems. Whether the answer involves infrastructure, a script, an integration, or a custom application, I enjoy finding a practical way forward.
The site now makes that part of my work easier to discover, alongside my role as an IT teacher.
A clearer view of my services
The new Services page presents three ways we can work together:
- IT consulting: understanding a challenge, reviewing your options, and defining practical next steps.
- Custom solution development: internal tools, web applications, integrations, and automation built around your workflow.
- Hosting and deployment: giving your website or application an appropriate environment, with a clearly defined operating scope.
If something in your daily work feels unnecessarily complicated, that’s a good starting point for a conversation.
More projects to explore
The portfolio also includes two recent applications:
- Eval: a school assessment platform covering exam creation, submission tracking, and AI-assisted correction reviewed by the teacher, with Microsoft Entra ID integration.
- The META: my iOS and Android nutrition app, combining a daily journal, different ways to log meals, and AI-assisted input.
These case studies show the work and selected interfaces while keeping the applications’ access details private.
Still powered by Hugo
Underneath the new design, the site remains a Hugo-generated static website, with articles written in Markdown and deployment through Cloudflare Pages. I’ve reused the Hugo image from the previous announcement as a little connection between the two versions.
The customized CO₂ badge is still in the footer, and the site remains available in English and French.
