  1. Freelance IT Consultant (System Engineering & Management)

    AlexIn Tech
Alongside my role as an IT teacher at ETML, I aspire to work as a freelance IT consultant specialized in system engineering and management. I aim to provide consulting services for diverse clients. More to come soon.
  2. IT Teacher

    ETML

At ETML, I teach IT apprentices professional knowledge and practical skills in network and system management, as well as cloud and on-premises infrastructure. My role involves designing and delivering engaging lessons, leveraging ETML’s workshops and laboratories to combine theoretical concepts with hands-on practice.

To foster student development, I guide them in mastering IT infrastructure, workflow orchestration, and project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile. I work closely with colleagues and administrative staff to ensure the highest teaching standards and align educational objectives with institutional goals.

I prepare students to transition smoothly into the workforce, equipping them with the technical skills and professional mindset needed to succeed in real-world work environments.

  3. DevOps Engineer

    Swisscom

I worked in the “Software Distribution” team, which provided IT services for regional and international customers. We used the MECM stack (SCCM, Orchestrator, Intune, Azure, CMG) to distribute software to approximately 70,000 computers.

As a DevOps engineer, my responsibilities included managing our Windows servers and in-house developed tools while ensuring the availability and stability of the infrastructure. (VMware, Azure, Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie)

To achieve our goals, I collaborated closely with a development team to automate as much of our operational work as possible. I also handled non-automatable tasks and contributed to small developments integrated into our CI/CD pipelines. (Azure DevOps Server (TFS), PowerShell, C#, Visual Basic (ASP.net), git (SourceTree), gitLFS, nugget, JFrog, MSSQL TSQL)

Thanks to my involvement, technical skills, and project management expertise, I successfully completed several server migration projects from “Windows 2012” and “SQL Server 2012” to the 2019 versions. This ensured infrastructure stability, security, and customer satisfaction.

  4. ICT System Engineer

    Swisscom

As an ICT System Engineer contracted to Nestlé, I was responsible for both project management and day-to-day infrastructure handling. This included managing and administering over 1550 servers.

My duties included administering servers via Azure, VMware vSphere, and HyperV, managing hypervisors (ESXi, HyperV), as well as managing storage (SAN) and backup systems. I was also in charge of all roles and applications on these Windows servers. There were over 100 database servers (MS SQL) and around 30 web servers (IIS).

To carry out these tasks, I used various scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch, VBScript, TSQL) as well as monitoring software. These actions helped me ensure efficient administration and continuous monitoring of the servers, ensuring optimal availability of services for users.

I contributed to the successful management of the infrastructure and ensured efficient support for development teams and users.

  5. ICT System Administrator & Project Manager

    MOB

As ICT System Administrator & Project Manager, I led several projects and performed operational tasks to ensure the proper management of the IT systems at MOB, a multisite organization with over 400 users.

One of my significant achievements was leading the migration of over 250 computers from Windows 7/Office 2010/Exchange 2010 to Windows 10/Office 365/Exchange Online. I also led an automation project with the implementation of SCCM to reduce the preparation and management time of computers.

I deployed ITIL V4 practices for IT support and led a major infrastructure project for Railtech SA. (Azure, M365, AD Trust, Black Fiber, InTune, Palo Alto FW) Another critical project I led was to enable the company to comply with Swiss laws and recommendations regarding traveler information. I managed a multidisciplinary team of 10 people from multiple departments.

In terms of operational tasks, I installed, configured and maintained Windows servers (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Group Policy, SQL Server, File Server DFS, Remote App) and administered the systems with PowerShell, Python and SQL. I also developed solutions and applications in C# and Python, managed firewalls (Palo Alto) and NAC by creating and editing rules, and managed a 120+ VM hyperconverged infrastructure with VMware vSphere.

I scheduled and managed backups, replications as well as restores with Veeam and managed user devices with SCCM and Airwatch. I administered the Microsoft 365 cloud (Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).

Through these projects and tasks, I ensured the stability and security of IT systems while significantly reducing computer setup time. Furthermore, I enabled the organization to comply with Swiss laws and recommendations regarding traveler information.
