My role: Application design and development, from teacher workflows to the student experience and system integration.

The problem

Preparing an assessment is only part of a teacher’s work. Distributing it, tracking submissions, correcting answers, sharing material with colleagues, and organizing make-up sessions all take time. As an IT teacher, I wanted to bring those steps together in a tool shaped around everyday classroom needs.

I created Eval, a web application that supports the assessment workflow from exam authoring to publishing results.

Interface preview

What I built

Flexible exam creation: multiple-choice, matching, short answers, open text, code, mathematics, and file attachments, with reference answers and grading criteria.

Reusable teaching material: teachers can share assessments with colleagues and create independent copies to adapt them to their classes.

Student and teacher workflows: group organization, assessment distribution, automatic saving, and submission tracking.

Assisted correction: automatic grading for structured answers and AI-generated grading suggestions for more open-ended responses.

Teacher review: a correction interface that brings the student’s response, reference answer, and proposed feedback together. Teachers can adjust points and decide when to publish results.

Follow-up sessions: result consultation and targeted make-up assessments within the same workflow.

AI that supports the teacher

The interesting challenge was integrating AI into a process where professional judgment matters. Eval uses teacher-defined reference answers and criteria to guide suggestions. The teacher reviews the correction and retains the final decision over published grades and feedback.

This project demonstrates how I approach applied AI: connect it to a concrete task, make its output reviewable, and keep the person responsible in control.

Integration and development

Eval includes Microsoft Entra ID integration for institutional sign-in. I built the application with Laravel, Vue, and Inertia, combining backend workflows with an interactive web interface.

The result is a custom tool that brings together teaching requirements, full-stack development, identity integration, and workflow automation, designed to reduce repetitive administration and make the assessment process easier to follow.

Internal school project. No public demo is available.
